***August will be our last month at Jasper Combat
Sports. They are closing their business. The wrestling mats inside are being sold for $1000 and we also need to find a place
to continue practicing. I will be contacting parents in the next few weeks for fundraising and practice location ideas***
***Wrestling practice will be held on August 2nd and
4th.
There will be no practice on the 9th and 11th due
to the first week of school.
Practice will begin again on regular schedule on August
16th.***

Welcome to the web site for the brand new Walker County Wrestling Club. We are affiliated
with USA Wrestling and are located at Jasper Combat Sports in downtown Jasper, Alabama. The club is forming now and we
hope the following information is beneficial:
- The club is open to children in grades K-6 who live in Walker County.
- The "season" runs from approximately November to March each year, however, there are opportunities
for your child to wrestle year round.
- Wrestling "Dual Matches" will be held monthly at a minimum with other teams or inter-squad.
- A USA Wrestling membership is required each year ($20.00) and a $25.00 monthly membership
fee will be assessed. (Covers approximately 16 hours of supervision each month) When tournaments begin in the fall, a
headgear, singlet, and wrestling shoes will be required. This should cost no more than $60.00. (Does not factor in team discounts)

- The proper attire for practices should be t-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes. Knee pads are
optional, headgear and wrestling shoes can be bought/ borrowed at a later time.
- Practices will be held each Tuesday and Thursday starting May 5 from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. at Jasper
Combat Sports (across from the old Dairy Queen) in downtown Jasper.
- Practice dates for August are as follows:
Tuesday August 2, 16, 23 and 30
Thursday August 4, 18, and 25
